Pupil Voice

As a school we are committed to ensuring each child’s views are listened to. They have many opportunities to share their thoughts and ideas both formally and informally. Mrs Mackenzie’s door is always open and we have a dedicated Learning Mentor that the children can talk to at dedicated times in the day.

We have achieved Investors in Children and are a Right Respecting School and as such we are interested in the children’s perspective on how school can be made an even better place for them. Within our school the children have many important responsibilities including running the office at lunchtime, supporting in the dinner hall, encouraging play and helping build friends at playtime, first aid helpers and interviewing for new members of school staff. They mentor and buddy new children into school and older children have opportunities to support younger children in learning and issues that arise around behaviour.

Children are consulted on a variety of current issues on a monthly basis. Their views form part of decision made by leaders in school and are valued highly by staff.
